My first serious attempt at a planted tank. This was taken two days after the initial planting so it has plenty of growing in to do. I'm planning to fill in the rest of the black eco-complete with HC and get about 25 Pseudomugil furcata to school in the tank. Haven't decided on a color for the background yet, but I'm leaning toward a blueish gradient.
Also, details on the substrate underneath the plants, from bottom up: an inch of Fluval peat granules mixed with red Fluorite, an inch of unknown silty soil from an old planted tank, an inch of inert silica sand, and between one to six inches of Eco-Complete on top. The tan open area is CaribSea Sunset Gold sand.

Great!
Looks like you have a lot of potential there, looking forward to see it fully grown!
I love what you did with the gravel.
